Let's be honest: Americans are obsessed with life in the White House — from what presidents eat to behind-the-scenes gossip about events. And who better to share such stories than Roland Mesnier, the White House executive pastry chef for 25 years?
Next Wednesday, Mesnier will be in Fresno to dish on the presidents he served: Jimmy Carter, Ronald Reagan, George H.W. Bush, Bill Clinton and George W. Bush. Mesnier’s talk, called "White House Meringues and Memoirs," is part of the San Joaquin Valley Town Hall lecture series.
If his memoir, "All the Presidents’ Pastries: Twenty-Five Years in the White House," (Flammarion, $24.95) is any indication, Fresno is in for a treat.
