Texas woman who cried rape guilty in lover's killing

FORT WORTH — A suburban Fort Worth woman who falsely cried rape to cover up an extramarital affair caused her husband to shoot her lover, a Tarrant County jury determined late Friday.

Tracy Roberson, 37, cried when state district Judge Louis Sturns read the guilty verdict. Her husband, Darrell Roberson, who was in the courtroom, showed no emotions. She could face 20 years in prison.

Darrell Roberson surprised his wife and her lover, Devin LaSalle, outside the Roberson home in December 2006. As they pulled away in a truck, she cried rape and Darrell Roberson shot LaSalle. A grand jury declined to indict Darrell Roberson in the case.
