Calif. woman demands priest's extradition from Mexico

A 26–year–old Sacramento woman who claims she was sexually assaulted by a Roman Catholic priest recently arrested in Mexico is calling for his immediate extradition to the United States.

Garbriela Enriquez says she was molested by Gerardo Beltran when she was an altar server at St. Joseph Parish in Sacramento from 1989 to 1991. Enriquez and other accusers of Beltran spoke Tuesday at a press conference in front of the church.

Beltran, 50, fled the country 17 years ago after allegations he had abused two young girls. He has been living in Mexico, where he reportedly has been serving as a priest. He was arrested March 14.
