Slain Washington state couple served in Iraq together

Two years before they were shot to death in their home Saturday night, Timothy and Randi Miller treated the injured in Iraq as part of a combat hospital unit based at Fort Lewis. Their deployments overlapped for six months in 2006, a family friend said Tuesday.

Timothy Miller, a staff sergeant and operation room specialist with the 47th Combat Support Hospital, and Randi Miller, a sergeant and medical laboratory specialist, had a baby girl Aug. 28 after they returned to Fort Lewis.

Ivette Gonzalez Davila, a fellow Fort Lewis soldier, has been charged with their deaths. Police claim she killed Randi Miller in her bed, then shot Timothy Miller as he was showering.
