A Greensboro man and others whose family members died in overseas terrorist attacks can continue to sue the Palestine Liberation Organization without the intrusion of the U.S. government.
The U.S. Department of Justice said today that it would not ask a judge to shield the Palestine Authority and the PLO from paying $116 million in damages to families whose relatives died in a terrorist bombing in Israel.
For several weeks, federal officials had been mulling whether to help fend off a civil lawsuit against the Palestinian groups, which are key players in the Middle East peace process and receive millions of dollars in U.S. aid.
