Sarajuddin, of Afghanistan was detained by U.S. troops in a home he was borrowing in January 2002 after his house had been destroyed by an airstrike. He arrived at Guantanamo in Early 2002 and was released in 2006.

Mohammed Ayub, of China, was captured when Pakistani villagers brought him to a mosque to hide - where they had "hidden" others fleeing Afghanistan as well, then turned them all in to Pakistani military. 
 He was not near a battlefield, though had come through the Tora Bora Mountains with the other Uyghurs from what they call a Uyghur refugee village and the U.S. calls a Taliban support training camp.
 He admits the camp had weapons training, though there weren't enough guns for everyone to hold one. He arrived at Guantanamo in June 2002 and was released May 2006.

Afghan Abdul Zuhoor was arrested by American soldiers in winter 2003, he thinks it was December. He arrived in Guantanamo early 2004 and was released late 2006.

Pakistani Sajid Ur Rahman was arrested in late October or November 2001 by Northern Alliance troops in Herat. It is not known when he entered Guantanamo and was released in early 2004.

Afghan Mohammed Naim Farouq was arrested after chasing down, in a pick up truck with a large gun in the back, a U.S. convoy of troops who had detained several of his police officers.  Exact date unknown Ð early to mid-2002. His arrival date at Guantanamo is not clear, and his release was July 2003.

Frenchman Mourad Benchellali was captured in October or November 2001, having just crossed the border into Pakistan after hiking through Afghan mountains.  He says he was trying to escape the war, which started while he was in Afghanistan. Benchallali entered Guantanamo in early 2002 and was released September 2004.
