A heated argument between two men in Mobile, Ala., led to a gruesome ending.

Suspect Justin Wesley Leverett, 37, allegedly hit a victim’s face so hard that one of his eyes popped out of its socket, according to the Mobile Police Department.

And that was just the start of the graphic details.

The suspect then allegedly punched the victim’s loose eyeball and caused it to explode, Mobile police added.

Police initially were trying to locate the 5-foot-11, 185-pound Leverett in connection to the April 20th assault.

Mobile police said he turned himself in Friday morning, nearly a week after the incident.

In an interview with AL.com, Mobile Police Cpl. LaDerrick DuBose said the victim told police he was flagged down in that area and was asked to exit his vehicle when he was struck in the face.

AL.com added that Mobile County Jail records showed Leverett was taken to the jail Friday and charged with first-degree assault, along with three traffic-related offenses.
