A board posted in the Anchorage Police Department's homicide unit lists the 18 homicides that occurred in 2010, either in black or red.
Black is for closed cases. Red is for the open ones, police said.
To date, suspects have not been identified for three of the victims whose names are written in red, though a total of five are considered open investigations, police said.
The five include Steven Hardies, whose wife found his body in January. He was stabbed in the head and lying on their kitchen floor in South Anchorage.
They also include a pair of men -- Bikendra Oja and Dale Marion Mills --who died when gunfire erupted in a small car in the Independence Park neighborhood.
