A South Carolina man says his intoxicated, estranged wife lit a blanket on fire and shoved burning papers down his pants in attempts to hurt him.

Tina Wilcox, 53, of Rock Hill was charged with arson and criminal domestic violence of a high and aggravated nature after the incident Saturday night, according to a Rock Hill police report.

The man woke up to a fire alarm around 11:30 p.m. He then saw his estranged wife kneeling over a blanket she had set on fire, the report states.

He started to call 911, but she stopped him. Wilcox then grabbed a stack of burning papers and shoved them down the victim's pants, the report states.

He told police he placed the burning papers in the kitchen sink and sprayed them with water. He also took the blanket out to the porch to douse it with water as well.

He did not report being injured in the attack.
