"Partridge Family" star David Cassidy was arrested in St. Lucie County Wednesday night on suspicion of DUI.
According to documents sent to The Miami Herald by the Florida Highway Patrol, the 60-year-old former teen idol was spotted weaving his 2008 Mercedes on the Florida Turnpike around 8 p.m. and was pulled over by an officer with the FHP.
The cop smelled a "slight odor of an unknown alcoholic beverage," coming from Cassidy's mouth.
That beverage may have been Labrot Graham Woodford Reserve Kentucky Bourbon, which was on the floor of his back seat — the bottle was half empty.
The singer — who has a home in Fort Lauderdale, according to his driver's license — admitted that he popped a hydrocodone pain pill for his back earlier in the afternoon and had a glass of wine. He also was tired from attending an early morning funeral, but insisted he wasn't drunk.
But the cop, who reported Cassidy was swaying, said he failed a breath test, clocking in at 0.139 and 0.141 — way over the .08 legal limit.
