In Kansas, man pleads guilty to forcing women into prostitution

Kansas City man who used violence and intimidation to force women into prostitution pleaded guilty today to a federal sex trafficking charge.

Michael L. Buck was indicted by a federal grand jury in October 2008 on charges of trafficking or attempting to traffic four adult female victims and with attempting to produce child pornography using a fifth victim, who was a juvenile.

Buck, 37, pleaded guilty in U.S. District Court in Kansas City to a single count charging that from 2002 to 2008 he “recruited, harbored, transported, provided and obtained females to engage in commercial sex acts” through “threats of serious harm, physical restraint and force.”
