Florida traffic stop yields hundreds of pills

MANATEE &mdashl; After deputies found hundreds of prescription pills, syringes and cash in a Holmes Beach, Florida, man’s car, he admitted to having a drug problem.

A routine traffic stop led to the arrest of Ryan Aston Jurgen, 29, on drug trafficking charges. Deputies found 525 oxycodone and 96 methadone pills in his car, according to a Manatee County Sheriff’s Office report.

Deputies pulled Jurgen over at about 10:30 p.m. Sunday in the 4100 block of Cortez Road, for having a license tag obscured by a gray cover. Jurgen could not produce registration for the car, and after smelling marijuana, deputies began to search the vehicle.
