MIAMI — A day after his tearful plea for help finding his wife, a Coral Springs, Fla., man has been charged with her murder.
Munawar Toha is charged with first-degree murder, Coral Springs police spokesman Sgt. Joe McHugh said.
His wife, Surya Sari-Prihatin Toha, had been missing since March 23. She was last seen driving the family's two children to elementary school in a silver Daewoo Nubira.
Her husband reported her missing the next day.
At a Monday afternoon news conference, Munawar Toha begged for help finding his wife.
Hours later, investigators found his wife's car underwater in a lake in Pompano Beach, north of Miami. Her body was inside, McHugh said.
Surveillance video from a nearby warehouse shows Munawar Toha pushing the car into the lake, McHugh said.
An autopsy will be done to determine exactly how Surya Sari-Prihatin Toha died.
