Anchorage police fear serial rapist is stalking city

Anchorage police are looking for a man they say attacked a woman early Friday morning and may also have been involved in two other rapes this week.

The man is described as clean-shaven, Native, 5 feet 8 inches tall and weighing about 225 pounds. He has short brown hair and is believed to be 18 to 25 years old. He was last seen wearing a white polo shirt.

Police say that around 4 this morning, he grabbed a woman walking near Benson Boulevard and Denali Street and dragged her into a secluded area to rape her. Afterward, he sped away on a mountain bike.

The woman flagged down a passer-by and asked for help. Police used dogs to track the attacker but they were not able to follow a scent.

Victims from two sexual assaults earlier this week described a similar-looking attacker.
