The 2008 presidential election couldn't have come at a better time for University of Kentucky senior Chelsea Tull.
"I'm drawn to politics, especially with this election," the 21-year-old studio art major says.
So, she drew on politics for an end-of-the-year show in which she put her love for illustration to work in a series of political paintings that look as if they could populate the op-ed section or pages of topical magazines.
There's all sorts of commentary in Barack and Roll, a painting of President-elect Barack Obama with a huge grin, jamming on an American-flag guitar.
"I had heard that slogan," Tull says. "I wanted to capture his energy, that youthful energy, that fun and full-of-life energy."
