Scientists respond to Crichton's use of global warming data, studies

Here are some of the studies and data that Michael Crichton cites in his book State of Fear and what climate scientists say about them: Crichtons heroine notes that from 1940 to 1970 carbon dioxide emissions increased as world temperatures decreased (pgs. 86-7). So if rising carbon dioxide is the cause of rising temperatures, why didnt it cause temperatures to rise from 1940 to 1970? she asks.
