President Barack Obama offered a solemn tribute to victims nearly 71 years after the United States dropped the first atomic bomb on Hiroshima, Japan. At Hiroshima Peace Memorial Park, Obama silently placed a white-and-yellow wreath in front of a monument representing a shelter for the victims’ souls. It bears an inscription: “Let all the souls here rest in peace; For we shall not repeat the evil.”
