The gambling executives have a solution to their current economic slump: Bring back tobacco. They want the statewide smoking ban repealed for casinos and the Illinois Casino Gaming Association is making it their top priority when state lawmakers are back for their regular session in January.
Casino Queen manager Tom Monaghan said revenues are down 20 percent from the same months last year, before the smoking ban began on Jan. 1.
Can you believe that one in five gamblers is staying away because of the smoking ban? Do you believe they are spending nearly a half hour of every two-hour gambling session outside having a puff?
