Amid the talk of elections and surges and drawdowns, there is still a steady stream of servicemen and women headed to Iraq, including 150 in the National Guard from the Tri-Cities who left the U.S. this week.
These are men and women, some very young and others not so much, who are willing to serve.
They are sons and daughters and brothers and sisters and moms and dads.
Regardless of how we vote or where we stand on the war, we need to remember and respect these soldiers. A kind word for their family members is also appropriate.
