Former Virginia senator and Democratic hopeful Jim Webb issued a somewhat cautious statement about the Iran nuclear agreement announced Tuesday in Vienna.
Many Republicans and Democrats have been quick to respond to the deal, but Webb said he needs more time.
“This is an important moment in terms of the future of American foreign policy,” he said. “I look forward to reading and examining the agreement.”
Webb issued his statement on Twitter and tweeted he would discuss the deal in more depth on Wednesday on The Diane Rehm show on NPR.
The deal to curb Tehran’s nuclear capabilities has generally been met with fanfare on the left and skepticism on the right.
