Stephen Colbert will visit Charleston on Friday for a rally with former presidential candidate Herman Cain in the comedian's bid to win support during the S.C. GOP presidential primary on Saturday.
Colbert wants his fans to vote for Cain, whose name still appears on the ballot despite dropping out of the race in December.
The Charleston-native Colbert looked at running in the primary after the deadline to get on the South Carolina ballot, which does not have a space to write-in a candidate.
Colbert and Cain will appear at 1 p.m. in the Cistern Yard at the College of Charleston for “The Rock Me Like a Herman Cain: South Cain-olina Primary Rally.”
“Together, these two unique voices will declare that they are the same man,” according to a news release. “Indeed, if you close your eyes and don’t listen, they are hard to tell apart.”
