A group of supporters has launched ‘Carly for America,’ a SuperPac to prepare for a potential presidential run by former Hewlett-Packard chief executive Carly Fiorina.
The move comes as Fiorina, who unsuccessfully challenged Senator Barbara Boxer, D-Calif., in 2010, speaks Thursday to the American Conservative Union’s annual political action conference.
"As Carly decides whether to enter into the 2016 race, Carly For America will continue to build conservative support,” said Steve DeMaura, the committee’s executive director. "Her dedication and understanding of how to unlock the potential of Americans across the country is a breath of fresh air for the GOP.”
DeMaura, who most recently served as political director of Fiorina’s Unlocking Potential Project and is a former executive director of the New Hampshire Republican Party, said Fiorina “has a demonstrated track record of delivering the kind of transformational change—within bureaucracies and within industries—we need to get our country and our economy back on track."
Carly for America released an introductory video on Fiorina, who drew rave reviews in conservative circles for her appearance at last month’s Iowa Freedom Summit.
At the event, Fiorina took aim at Hillary Clinton, the overwhelming favorite for the Democratic nomination.
"Like Hillary Clinton, I too, have traveled hundreds of thousands of miles around the globe. But unlike her, I have actually accomplished something," Fiorina said.
