Republicans are blitzing key senators' states starting Monday with Facebook posts and robocalls, all urging people to ask lawmakers why they backed the Affordable Care Act.
Eleven Democrats who backed the act are targeted: Senators Mark Warner (VA), Mark Begich (AK), Dick Durbin (IL), Kay Hagan (NC), Mary Landrieu (LA), Jeff Merkley (OR), Mark Pryor (AR), Jeanne Shaheen (NH), and Mark Udall (CO), and Representatives Bruce Braley (IA) and Gary Peters (MI).
Here's the sample Robocall pitch:
"President Obama and the Democrats said you could keep your healthcare plan under Obamacare. Now we know [SENATOR] actually VOTED to make it more difficult. Call [SENATOR] at (XXX)-XXX-XXX and ask why [he/she] lied."
"President Obama and the Democrats said you could keep your healthcare plan under ObamaCare. Now we know [REPRESENTATIVE] actually made that same promise. Call [REPRESENTATIVE] (XXX)-XXX-XXX and ask why [he/she] lied."
