Missouri governor says new coal plant may be state's last

Gov. Jay Nixon flipped the switch Tuesday Kansas City Power & Light's Iatan 2 power plant but opnely wondered if another coal-fired plant would ever be built in the state. The Iatan 2 plant, by slashing emissions of nitrous oxide and sulfur dioxide, will be among the cleanest-burning coal-fired power plants in operation, but still a large contributor of global-warming carbon dioxide.
