11 votes for deficit report not enough to send it to Congress

A majority of President Barack Obama’s bipartisan federal debt commission members on Friday endorsed their leaders’ sweeping blueprint for slashing nearly $4 trillion from budget deficits over the next 10 years. But the 11 supporters of the 18-member National Commission on Fiscal Responsibility and Reform “Moment of Truth” plan were short of the 14 needed to send the package to Congress for votes.
