N.C. Sen. Burr polishes his conservative credentials

In U.S. Sen. Richard Burr, North Carolinians have a lawmaker who looks the part of a moderate businessman, works like a policy wonk and votes sharply conservative. He has consistently voted to keep marriage between a man and a woman, to restrict abortion access, to strengthen gun rights and to increase spending on national defense. He opposes the repeal of Don't Ask, Don't Tell in the military, and he voted against the expansion of a children's health insurance program.
