Lawsuit asks if science was manipulated in oil spill estimates

An environmental whistleblower group charges in a lawsuit that the Obama administration is withholding hundreds of documents that would help explain why the administration repeatedly underestimated the size of BP's Deepwater Horizon oil spill. The documents include communications between the Flow Rate Technical Group, which was tasked with making estimates of the spill's size, and Marcia McNutt, the head of the U.S. Geological Survey, who chaired the technical group.
