Justice Department clears Bush lawyers for 'torture memos'

In a long-awaited report released Friday evening, the Justice Department said that former Justice lawyers John Yoo and Jay Bybee should not have their law licenses revoked, despite flaws in the reasoning of their legal memos that authorized the Bush administration's harsh interrogation of terrorist suspects. The report reverses an earlier finding that the two lawyers should face discipline from their state bar associations.
