FRANKFORT — With his wife Elizabeth at his side and their infant daughter Eva in his arms, Democrat Attorney General Jack Conway officially entered the race Wednesday for U.S. Senate.
After filing his paperwork in the Secretary of State's office, Conway told reporters that he wants to go to Washington to help create more jobs.
He played down Republican Scott Brown's upset win for the U.S. Senate in liberal Massachusetts Tuesday night, saying that was a special election. The GOP win put President Barack Obama’s health care overhaul in doubt.
Conway did say the Massachusetts race was "a wake-up call" in that Democrats and Republicans "have not gotten done in Washington what the people want to see done." He mentioned "a decade of neglect" in overseeing Wall Street.
