Health officials to students: Stay home if you have the flu

Hoping to stop swine flu in its tracks this fall, U.S. health officials on Thursday advised university students, faculty and staff to "self-isolate" themselves in their dorm rooms or off-campus homes if they develop flu-like symptoms. College students are a high-risk group for the 2009 H1N1 virus, which has spread to at least 168 countries after emerging in Mexico this spring. The latest data from the World Health Organization reports at least 182,166 confirmed cases and 1,799 deaths worldwide.
