Senate confirms Sotomayor to the Supreme Court, 68-31

The Senate confirmed Judge Sonia Sotomayor to the U.S. Supreme Court Thursday by a vote of 68-31. Nine Republicans joined all Democrats and two independents in voting 'yes.' Sen. Edward Kennedy, D-Mass., didn't vote because of illness, but he expressed his support for Sotomayor.
