Abortion: White House says surgeon general pick is pro-choice

Regina Benjamin, Obama's nominee for surgeon general, sits on the board of the Catholic Hospital Association, which says life begins at conception, and Catholic officials say they hope she supports the church's position on abortion. But the White House says she agrees with the president's abortion rights position.
