ACLU tests Obama with request for secret Bush-era memos

In what could be a critical test of the Obama administration's commitment to transparency, the American Civil Liberties Union today asked the Obama administration to release Bush-era memos that provided the legal underpinning for harsh interrogations, eavesdropping and secret prisons. For years, the Bush administration refused to release them, but a new Obama executive order last week rescinded Bush restrictions on what can be made public.
