Florida declares emergency, extends early voting hours

Faced with rising complaints from angry Floridians waiting hours to vote, Gov. Charlie Crist set aside a 2005 law passed by the state's Republican legislature that limited early voting to eight hours a day. Now the polls will be open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. ''It's not a political decision,'' Crist said. "It's a people decision.''
