Just how big a drag is Palin on the McCain campaign?

Sarah Palin is the rarest of vice presidential candidates — one who's actually having an impact on the outcome of a presidential race. Unfortunately for John McCain, it's not a good one. In a nationwide survey taken Oct. 16-19, the Pew Research Center found that 49 percent of the respondents viewed her negatively, while 44 had positive opinions of her.
