Re-election fears, payback drove House GOP bailout revolt

McCain's gotten the blame, but that's too simple an explanation for House Republicans refusal to go along with President Bush's call for a $700 billion bailout for the financial services industry. Republicans are motivated by their own troubled re-election bids, made tougher by a president who's rushed them into decisions they've later regretted.
