Out of bounds! McCain stretches definition of 'fundamentals'

John McCain said Monday, as financial markets were reeling, "The fundamentals of our economy are strong." On Tuesday, he tried to explain that comment by saying he meant the "workers of America." But fundamentals are quantifiable concepts, such as unemployment rates, gross domestic product, and inflation.
