Alaska governor puts aide on leave in trooper-firing probe

The aide, Frank Bailey, is Gov. Sarah Palin's boards and commissions director. Last week, Palin revealed that Bailey'd been recorded making a phone call to a trooper lieutenant to argue that Palin's ex-brother-in-law, Mike Wooten, who was locked in a child-custody battle with Palin's sister, be fired. The Alaska legislature is investigating whether Palin's July firing of Public Safety Commissioner Walt Monegan was because Monegan wouldn't fire Wooten.
