Guantanamo prisoner opens new era of court challenges

The Taliban tortured Abdul Rahim Abdul Razak al Ginco, saying he was a U.S. spy. Then the U.S. sent him to Guantanamo, saying he was a terrorist. Now Ginco is asking a U.S. federal court to order his release — the first Guantanamo detainee to file for a hearing since the U.S. Supreme Court ruled Guantanamo detainees have the right to file habeas corpus petitions.
