'We're pinned down:' 4 U.S. Marines die in Afghan ambush

The Taliban were waiting as the U.S.-led patrol of American Marines and Afghan police approached the remote village of Ganjgal in far eastern Afghanistan on Tuesday. When the fighting ended hours later, four U.S. Marines, eight Afghan troopers and an Afghan interpreter were dead. McClatchy's Jonathan S. Landay was with them.
