Hezbollah takes casualties in Syrian rebel offensive; peace talks set for January

Rebels launched an offensive that apparently succeeded in breaking the government siege of several contested villages in a battle that apparently involved the Lebanese group Hezbollah. Also, the U.N. announced that the U.S. and Russia had agreed to Jan. 22 for talks intended to find a political solution to the civil war.
