Japan nuclear crisis prompts China to halt plans for new plants

The Chinese government announced on Wednesday that as a result of the ongoing Japanese nuclear crisis, it is both suspending plans for new nuclear power plants in China to allow safety standards to be revised and ordering checks at all existing facilities.
