Egypt's Mubarak on the brink; ElBaradei demands 'new era'

Opposition figure Mohammed ElBaradei emerged from house arrest late Sunday to join throngs of protesters in central Cairo, echoing their demand that U.S.-allied President Hosni Mubarak resign. The dramatic nighttime appearance suddenly placed ElBaradei at the forefront of a leaderless grassroots revolt that's brought Egypt's government to the brink of collapse.
