A roadside bomb targeted Abdulrahman Dawood, a prominent member of PM Maliki's party when he was driving through Zafaraniyah neighbourhood, southeast Baghdad, at 7.30 a.m. Wednesday. The explosion left Dawood and three of his security guards injured.
A roadside bomb targeted civilians in Ghazaliyah, west Baghdad, at 3 p.m. Wednesday, killing one civilian and injuring two others.
A suicide bomber driving a motorbike targeted a U.S. military convoy in the centre of the town of Muqdadiyah, 36 km to the east of Baquba, at 12.30 p.m. killing two civilians and injuring five others. The explosion also damaged one of the vehicles of the convoy. No casualties were reported from the American side at time of publication.
