One American soldier was killed while on duty, according to a U.S. military press release. No further information was undisclosed, pending notification of his/her family.
Two armed men stepped out of their car at the door of Bashar al Agaili, winning candidate at the March elections from former PM Ayad Allawi's coalition, and shot him repeatedly, Sunday, and drove off. His family and neighbours took him to hospital where he died of his injuries.
Armed men raided a home in Khazraj neighbourhood, central Mosul, Monday, and killed an elderly woman who was alone in the house.
A roadside bomb targeted an Iraqi army patrol in al Tanak neighbourhood, west Mosul, Monday, injuring two soldiers.
