More than one hundred attacks upon civilians with small home made bombs and 13 roadside bombs exploded in Baghdad alone, Sunday that resulted in at least 38 civilians killed and around 90 others injured on Elections Day, March 7. Many of the casualties were buried under the rubble of four residential buildings that were targeted around Baghdad: two in Ur neighbourhood, Shaab, northern Baghdad (25 killed, 19 injured), one in al Shurta al Rabi'a, and one in Amil neighbourhood, both in southwest Baghdad.
Around 36 home made bombs and stun bombs and five mortar rounds targeted polling centres in and around Baquba, early Sunday injuring two civilians.
Six roadside bombs and four mortar rounds targeted polling centres in and around Fallujah, Sunday, causing only material damages.
Four mortar rounds, one roadside bomb and one hand grenade targeted polling centres in Mosul resulting in one soldier killed and two civilians injured, Sunday.
