Round-up of Daily Violence in Iraq - Monday 10 August, 2009

A parked car bomb targeted laborers in al Shurta al Rabi'a neighbourhood, southwestern Baghdad at 6.20 a.m. Monday killing nine workers and wounding 35 others. Two truck bombs targeted the residential neighbourhood in al Khazna village, 20 km to the north of Mosul at 4 a.m. Monday killing at least 30 civilians and wounding at least 130 others. Iraqi police said that the toll is likely to rise because rescue operations are continuous and also because so many of the wounded have serious injuries. The explosion also destroyed 35 houses.
