- A roadside bomb targeted a high ranking ministry of health official in Al Waziriyah, injuring three civilians and one policeman. - Around 3 p.m. gunmen stole 300 million Iraqi dinars and a car that was carrying the salaries of electricity department employees.
- Police found three bodies in Baghdad, in Shaab, Doura and Atifiya.
- Gunmen attacked a check point manned by a local tribal anti Qaeda group in Al Baaj, 120 Kilometers west of Mosul. One checkpoint guard was killed and three others were injured. Three attackers were killed.
Diyala - A suicide car bomb exploded in Baquba, injuring three civilians. - Qaeda gunmen attacked an Iraqi police station in Zaghaniyah town, 10 km north of Baquba. Three policemen and one gunman were killed, Iraqi police said.
Babil - The Babil province governor survived an assassination attempt when gunmen attacked his convoy as he was heading to Baghdad.
Karbala - A roadside bomb targeted an Iraqi army convoy in Sariha area, injuring one officer and a soldier.
Erbil - Turkish warplanes attacked at least five villages of Qalat Diza, about 180 kilometers northeast Sulaimaniyah, killing one civilian and injuring five others, Kurdish officials said.
