It's no coincidence that Brandon Vaughan's fiancee, Kim Kearns of Richland Hills, describes their first meeting as magical.
"He was magical," Kearns said. "Everything about him I loved. He was the sweetest, nicest guy. He would do anything for anybody. I was 18 and in love."
Now, Vaughan and Kearns, like dozens of other Tarrant County couples, are planning to marry on an auspicious day for a match made in heaven: 11-11-11.
To hear numerologists and others tell it, a boom of good cosmic energy will hit planet Earth that day, making it a great time to tie the knot and, yes, even to live happily ever after. That may be why area justices of the peace say they're up to their eyeballs in 11-11-11 nuptials.
Vaughan, now 31, and Kearns, now 26, will wed Nov. 11 at Southlake Town Square.
"I'm ecstatic," Vaughan said. "The day just happens to be one of the luckiest days we could think of. What better day to start spending the rest of our lives together?"
Triple lucky, said Colette M. McAlester, a psychic in Dallas. "It's going to be a very successful partnership."
The number 11 carries significance with others, too. It is a favorite of blackjack players, a top keno number and a character "master" number in numerology, drawing energies likened to the cosmic sound of infinity.
