After nearly tripling its wind generation in 2008 and 2009, Kansas now ranks 14th nationally with just over 1,000 megawatts of capacity, according to the annual report from the American Wind Energy Association.

* Kansas is ranked second among states for its potential wind energy, at 952,371 megawatts.
